Three things shape most Granite Shoals orders. Here's what each one means for the flashing, and the fastest way to get it made.
The condition
Re-roofs and new homes
Granite Shoals began as Sherwood Shores, a subdivision platted in 1962 from three ranches on the lake. That means steep-slope re-roofs on established lots alongside new homes going up between them.

No. Gravel stop has a raised lip that holds gravel or ballast on a low-slope roof, with a face that runs down over the fascia. Drip edge is a simpler eave and rake edge that kicks water clear of the fascia, mostly on steep-slope roofs. We bend both to your dimensions.
For asphalt shingles, the International Residential Code requires drip edge at eaves and rake edges (section R905.2.8.5 in recent editions). Which edition applies depends on what the city has adopted, so confirm with the Granite Shoals Building office before you bid.
The IRC calls for drip edge that extends at least 1/4 inch below the roof sheathing and at least 2 inches back onto the deck. Beyond that, size the face to cover your fascia and any furring, and the flange to the underlayment detail. Send us those two numbers, or a photo, and we bend it to fit.
Use the eave trim detailed for your panel system, in the same gauge and finish as the panels, so the panel sits on it and water drains into the gutter or past the fascia. We form eave, rake and gable trim to the panel manufacturer’s details in matching Kynar colors.
Yes. Step flashing is woven in with each course where the roof meets a wall. Counter flashing comes down from the wall, set into a reglet or behind the siding, and laps over the vertical leg of the step flashing so water can’t get behind it.
A kick-out (diverter) flashing at the bottom of the roof-to-wall intersection turns water away from the wall and into the gutter. The IRC requires it where an eave meets a sidewall. We bend kick-outs to match your step flashing and finish.
They do different jobs. Gutter apron has a longer flange that drops into the gutter so water can’t run behind it; drip edge sheds water off the edge of the deck. Many roofers use apron at the eaves with gutters and drip edge on the rakes. We bend both.
A lower gauge number means thicker steel, so 24 gauge is thicker and stiffer than 26. It holds a straighter line on wide faces and commercial edge metal like gravel stop and coping. 26 gauge is common on residential trim. Tell us which your spec calls for.
Send drawings through Scan to Quote, a photo with one tape measurement through Photo to Quote, or draw the profile in FlashDraft. Include gauge, finish, lengths and quantities. We send a formal quote, and once it is approved you pick it up in Burnet or have it delivered.
Often, yes. Counter flashing, edge metal and some valley metal can be replaced on their own. Step flashing is woven in with the shingles, so those courses usually have to come up. Photo to Quote the old piece and we will bend a match.
