The core
Custom fabrication
Profiles bent to your exact dimensions in the metal, gauge and finish you specify: gutters, downspouts, drip edge, fascia covers, step, kickout and counterflashing, and trim.
Most metal work in Cottonwood Shores is on houses already standing: a run of gutter, a stretch of drip edge, the counterflashing on one chimney. The profile on your customer's house may not be on anyone's shelf. Photograph it with one tape measurement and we'll match it.

Measure: across the top, front lip to back
Shoot the cut end at an end cap or downspout, square on.
Lay the tape across the open top so the numbers read.
Add one wide shot of the run for length and color.
Three things shape a metal order in Cottonwood Shores: how it gets to the house, what's already on the house, and the hail that sent you there.
Where your order startsFormed at the AFS shop in Burnet: the folder, the coil racks and the crew. The street on your order decides how it gets from here to the house.
The condition
26,000-lb limit on home streets
In April 2026 the city council barred vehicles over 26,000 pounds from designated residential streets, and requires construction traffic to use alternate routes.

What it means for the metal
Put the street on the order so delivery is planned for it: vehicle size, a drop point, or pickup in Burnet.
Long pieces need a vehicle that can carry them at length.
Order the whole job together so it arrives in one trip.
Cottonwood Shores grew from 548 residents in 1990 to 1,403 in 2020 and is mostly homes, so much of the metal work is repair and replacement on existing houses.

Match the profileGutter size and style, drip edge face and kick, fascia cover height: formed to what's on the house, not the nearest stock part.
Match the finishPrefinished Kynar 500 in the color on the house, or bare Galvalume.
Short runs welcomeA single corner, one downspout, one chimney's worth of counterflashing.
On April 9, 2024, NOAA logged 2-inch "chicken egg size hail in Cottonwood Shores," and 2.75-inch hail in Horseshoe Bay from the same storm.

Measure straight across the open top, from the front lip to the back. About 5 inches is a 5-inch gutter, about 6 inches is a 6-inch. Take the measurement at an end cap or downspout where you can hold the tape square, and send that photo through Photo to Quote so we match the profile too.
Yes. The common ones are K-style (flat back and bottom with a decorative front), half-round and box gutters, each in several sizes, plus fascia-style and custom shapes. Our library has the standard profiles, and we bend custom ones to match what is already on the house.
A common rule is a hanger every 24 to 36 inches, tighter where valleys or heavy runoff load the gutter, plus one close to each end and corner. Follow the hanger maker's spacing for your gutter size and gauge.
Fascia cover, fascia wrap or fascia trim: sheet metal formed to wrap the face and bottom edge of the board. We form it to the board height you measure, in prefinished colors or bare Galvalume.
Most roofers replace it. Step flashing is woven in with each shingle course, so it comes off with the tear-off, and reusing bent or corroded pieces risks a leak at the wall. Check the shingle manufacturer's instructions for the product you are installing. We bend new step flashing to quote with the rest of the re-roof.
The step flashing at the chimney comes off with the shingles and should be new. Counterflashing set into the mortar can sometimes stay if it is sound and the right height for the new roof; if it is rusted, loose or too short, replace it. Photograph it with a tape on the exposed leg and we will match it.
Yes. It is easiest during a re-roof, but on most roofs you can lift the first shingle courses, pull the fasteners and slide in new drip edge. Send us the face height and roof leg, and the color, and we will bend it to match.
A kickout, or diverter, sits where the bottom of a roof edge meets a sidewall. It turns water out into the gutter instead of letting it run down behind the siding. We fabricate kickouts in the metal and finish you need.
Bare Galvalume should not be in contact with wet mortar or concrete, lead, copper or pressure-treated lumber, or sit in runoff from copper, because those attack the coating. Cut edges can also discolor over time. Where any of that applies, ask us about a painted finish or a different metal.
You can, if galvanized or Galvalume flashing is cleaned and primed with a primer made for metal, but field paint usually needs redoing. Prefinished metal with a factory Kynar 500 finish holds its color much longer. We form flashing from prefinished stock to match the roof.
